My husband has had this ottoman for years (or even decades) and the years began to show.
(Sorry if this pic grosses you out :D the ottoman used to be underneath a skylight and was often exposed to rain..)
It’s really practical because you can sit on it, store things in it and use it as a footstool. Plus the wood still looks great. So I decided to renew the fabric cover.
Since my love for gold shows no sign of fading, I opted out for a white cotton with handprinted (by me) golden stripes. I didn’t remove the old fabric because it was stapled and taped put and removing all that would have been a pain.
Instead, I just cut a piece of fabric in a suitable size, and stapled it on top of the old fabric.
And this is the new old ottoman
Now it feels like we have a brand new piece of furniture. Yay!
